In reality, I do not have to do anything to connect with my food, I can simply go to the grocery store and buy it conveniently packaged like most other people. The point of my article is that that is a sanitized version of reality and veganism is simply the epitome of that version. What I am trying to say is that there is no food without death. I am also pointing out that this idea of diet is an incredibly privileged position. Farmers get their hands dirty so you don’t have to, is the subtext. Just because you outsourced your death doesn’t mean that you are not utterly complicit.
