I spent years trying to define what masculinity meant to me. I knew there was something important there. Finally I understood it to be a cultural concept. Every one of us who identify as masculine define it in our way. I would like to point out that we need to always separate sex and gender. There are a variety of sexes and quite a bit of gender identities. I am male and masculine at the moment, but sex and gender are fluid, finite in nature. They come into being and fade out, based on many factors. Maybe the biggest problem is that we believe, for some reason, that things remain static, when everything in nature shows the contrary.
