Presups Are Miserable People

Presuppositionalists are miserable people that operate in bad faith.

We all have presuppositions, such as the idea that we are real. Any argument has to start from a place of shared presuppositions, like the concept that we are two people having a conversation. From there, we can agree that it is possible to understand reality through our sense perception, which is really our mind trying to understand the universe.

Recently I’ve been listening to debates with Christian presup apologists. I warn you, this is a masochistic practice. Most presups are intent on leading an atheist or agnostic into a script, which guides the conversation toward a foregone conclusions, allowing the presup to declare victory. They hunger for atheist blood, without which they wither and die.

The main presup idea is that the only way to understand an intelligible world is through their god. They layer assumption upon assumption like an infinite layer cake of bullshit. What this practice truly illustrates is that the presup worldview is based on the love of absolutes. Without a world with sharply delineated good and evil, a presup crumbles. They require drama in order to live.
